Mercedes Benz C450 / C43 ARMYTRIX Exhaust System – From VC Tuning

Mercedes Benz has done a superb job with the W205 C-class chassis. The company now offers a multitude of engine options in its entry level luxury sedan. For the US market, we are given the Turbo 4 (C300/plug-in) the BiTurbo 6 (C450/C43 varaints) and the almighty BiTurbo 8 (C63/C63s). All of these models have their rightful places in the vehicle line up, but the C43/C450 and C63 have some serious tuning potential.

The C450/C400/C43 variants use the M276 DELA 30 Direct Injected Bi Turbo v6. This 3 liter engine allows for the perfect balance of economy and performance. Using 2 turbochargers (one for each bank) you are able to extract a tremendous amount of power from this vehicle. The first step to unleashing this power is to free up the flow of exhaust gasses.

ARMYTRIX offers a full turbo-back exhaust system for this vehicle and it really helps wake the car up. By removing the restrictions right after the turbo, you are able to improve horsepower and torque as well as sound. You will also see decreased turbo spool up times. The valve system in the muffler gives you the option of “Loud Performance” or “Quiet Cruising” when you deem necessary. With the full exhaust system installed you will see increases of around 20HP and 22FT-LB of torque. You will also shed about 6 pounds off the vehicle weight.

Mercedes C63S AMG Edition One Gets ARMYTRIX Race Downpipes Installed – MR-Chiptech Tuning

The all new C63s coupe is one tough German sports coupe. The W205 has improved its engine configuration for its AMG models, which actually lowered the displacement. The old 6.2L was amazing for sound, and raw N/A power, but is no match for the new M177/M178 replacement. They went for a 4.0L v8 which has a twin turbo set up (BiTurbo).
